Pokon works wonders

The garden is increasingly becoming an extension of the living room. You can use colours and shapes to design your garden exactly the way you want it. Create a cosy and natural atmosphere in your garden by putting plants in your border or in pots. Green fingers not required! It is actually quite simple to create and maintain the most beautiful garden.

Small garden or balcony

There is no reason why you need a large garden to create a green outside environment. One popular garden type is the vertical garden, whereby you grow plants against a wall or fence. Easily add colourful, tasteful and aromatic accents to your garden with the Pokon Hanging Garden! It is perfect for small terraces and balconies too. No matter the size or location of your garden, there are a number of things you will need to consider if you want the best result.

The right soil

The basis of every plant is the right soil. Some plants prefer porous soils (rose), or extra magnesium (boxes), while others need soil with good water retention properties, because they are used to this in their natural environment (e.g. Mediterranean plants). We have developed a range of soils that mimic various natural habitats, so that you can always find the right soil mix for your plant.

The right nutrients

Alongside the right soil, plants also require a balanced diet of nutrients. As well as lots of potassium, they also need magnesium and iron. Magnesium helps plants develop their luscious and full green colour, while iron gives flowers more intense colours. Here too, different plants have different needs. Some plants need nutrients for rigid stems (climbers and roses), others need extra magnesium for vivid green leaves and needles (boxtrees and hedge plants). It may sound complicated, but it isn’t! Pokon is happy to help you make the right choice, so you can enjoy your plants for years and years.

Most garden plants are quite hardy, but they can still suffer attacks from pests and moulds. So it’s a relief to know that you can prevent most serious damage by using the right soil and plant food. This is because healthy plants are more resistant to diseases and plagues.

Regular pruning

Many plants require careful pruning to keep them healthy.
